Summer Cocktails To Try This Weekend

These beautiful summer months are perfect for cracking open a beer on the porch or sipping on your favorite rose', but what about mixing it up? We've created a list of some refreshing, light cocktails to impress your friends with at the neighborhood barbeque this summer! Is alcohol not your thing? Leave it out or replace it with seltzer water for most recipes!

Vodka Watermelon Cooler

1 cup cubed watermelon, chilled

1 1/2 ounce Vodka

1/2 ounce Triple Sec

1 large lime wedge

  • Blend the watermelon in a blender until smooth and strain through a fine strainer. Mix in the vodka, triple sec, and lime juice.

  • Stir and pour into your glass over ice. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Summer Sangria

1 bottle of your favorite red wine

2 tbsp. of agave nectar

Juice of a lemon, a lime, and an orange

1 cup each - sliced strawberries, apples, pineapple

  • In a large carafe, stir together the wine, agave, and citrus juices. Mix in the sliced fruit and serve in wine glasses over ice.

Blackberry Cherry Spritzer

  • Blend 1 cup of blackberries and 1 cup of cherries (pitted) together in a blender with juice from 1/2 a lemon and 1 tbsp. agave nectar.

  • Add a large spoonful to your glass and add 1 1/2 ounces of vodka.

  • Fill your glass with ice and top with seltzer water and stir.

Strawberry Mojito

  • Add 1/4 of a lime, 10 spearmint leaves, 1 tbsp. of agave, 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries to your glass.

  • Crush and mix together with a muddler.

  • Fill your glass with ice and add 1 1/2 ounce of vodka and top with club soda.

  • Stir and garnish with lime.

Blueberry Whiskey Buck

  • In a cocktail shaker muddle together a handful of blueberries, 1 tbsp. of agave, and large lemon wedge. Pour in 1 1/2 ounces of whiskey and shake vigorously.

  • Pour over ice and top with ginger beer.
